Experience Tirol through extreme adventure

The Tirol in Austria is a popular spot to enjoy the winter wonderland the region turns into every year. But although mountain enthusiasts visit the region in the summer as well, it definitely does not get the attention it deserves. Especially from extreme adventure lovers.

Summer is right around the corner and if you crave something more than just laying on the beach, Tyrol is worth exploring!

Do you want to engage your body in challenging sports activities while surrounded by beautiful natural sceneries? Then check out everything and more you can try out in Tyrol, Austria this summer!

On two wheels

Biking around a lake can be a relaxing activity for the whole family, but if you’re seeking a bit more adrenalin on the two wheels, mountain biking is definitely something for you! Tyrol has numerous bike parks for all types of bikers, ranging from complete beginners to those who want to put their experience to a test. If you’re a beginner you will have the most fun in the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis Bike Park where you can even take the youngsters of your family. For solo riders looking for a challenge, Wipptal Valley is a great choice.

In the waves

For those who prefer to have a bit more fun in the waves rather than an occasional swim in the sea, water sports are a go-to activity. Have you ever tried wakeboarding? And if you have, ever tried it surrounded by views of monumental, green mountains? Tirols was recently blessed with the first wakeboarding park, called Area 47. Again, regardless of what level you’re at, locals will help you have the best time.

Up in the clouds

Wishing to see Tyrol from the eyes of the birds? No problem, choose one from the many paragliding places in Tirol, such as Zillertal, Lienz or Wilder Kaiser region, and fly away! You will for sure enjoy this extreme activity the most if you already have some experience, but there are also classes for complete beginners. You might need to dedicate a bit more time but this is definitely something your friends (if they won’t enjoy it with you!) will for sure be jealous of.

Inside the tree crowns

From time to time we want nothing more than to get back to our childhood years and have some fun like we used to. There’s a perfect place for exactly these moments, and it’s called aerial adventure parks! Tyrol offers quite a large offer of these parks. Amazing for a fun afternoon with the whole family. Kids can enjoy more beginner-friendly treetop trails, and adults can dare to try the more advanced ones! For example, the first-ever aerial park built in Tirol called the Fulpmes in Stubai Valley has over 13 trails!

Into the chasm

Last but not least, the golden box to check on every adventurer’s bucket list is the one and only bungee jumping. Although this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it will make for an unforgettable memory. In Tirol, adrenaline-seekers usually go to the Europe Bridge, one of the most popular places to engage in this adventurous activity. Close your eyes, and jump into the emptiness below you for a truly wow experience!

After having to modify or completely cancel our summer plans due to the pandemic, it’s finally time to have some real fun. Although, a non-traditional vacation idea, going to a place where you can take part in so many extreme sports activities is an opportunity to seize! Pitch the idea of Tirol to your friends or family, or just pack a backpack and embark on some adventure!
